Dog and Cat Adoptions
All dogs and cats will be current on vaccinations
and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
A free Columbia County vet visit is included, within 14 days of adoption.
[see Prices]
NOTE: CHS is dedicated to helping end pet overpopulation. We strive to have each animal spayed or neutered prior to adoption however there are times when our volunteer veterinarian's schedule does conflict with an animal adoption. When this happens, we will release the animal with spay or neuter-by dates and will cover the charge only if our suggested vets are used. If the adopter chooses to use their own vet then CHS will reimburse a portion of the altering fee. To discourage breeding there is one exception to this rule. We will not allow adoption of any pure breed or rare breed cat or dog until they have been spayed or neutered.
Our Featured Pets page introduces animals who have been with us the longest. These dogs and cats are often disregarded due to their breed, looks, age etc. Generally they don’t need any special care; all they need is extra love, time and patience to become a perfect companion. Feel like reaching out and changing the life of something in need that will return the favor in love and devotion? Think to adopt from a shelter. Shelter animals are the most loving and wonderful animals!
